Hello Kitty Cupcake Wraps with Cut File and Instructions

Have you been by Custom Crops this week?  They are having a sale, which started today AND, as they do every week, they released the designers' new projects last Monday.  I have new a Hello Kitty Cupcake Wrappers project, complete with the cut file and instructions.

The wrappers are much easier to make than you would imagine and they look adorable on the Wilton cupcake tower rack.  I also shared a great recipe for "from scratch" chocolate cupcakes.  And Kitty looks awesome holding pink frosted chocolate cupcakes!

Another Cupcake Wrapper - to Enhance Your Holiday Buffet

I know, I know - I'm late!!  It is Tuesday and I did not post my new Custom Crops project yesterday.   I had one new project this week, Poinsettia Cupcake Wrappers.

I am going to be honest and tell you that this is my favorite cupcake wrapper to date.  They are cut with Plantin Schoolbook and Winter Woodland.... And are just SOOO festive.  I am picturing the top layer of my triple layer server filled with poinsettia wrapped cupcakes!!!  The cut file and complete instructions are available at Custom Crops - just follow the blinkie at the left to my articles at CC.  As a bonus, the cupcake and frosting recipes were also included...... And they are SUPER YUMMIE!!

By the way, today is Pink Tuesday at Custom Crops.  Pink Tuesday is CC's answer to Black Friday... Earlier and prettier!! Be sure to do a little shopping while you are checking out the new projects.

And finally, I wanted to share a photo of the flowers I received today from my husband for our anniversary.  Aren't they beautiful?  He knows I love pink roses.... But not as much as I love him!!!!

CWTC Crafty Girl Saturday - Guest Designer

I am dreaming of a white Christmas, with every cupcake that I bite!!!!  It is Crafty Girl Saturday at Christmas with the Cricut and I have been busy in the kitchen AND in the scrap room!!!  Here in South Carolina the only snow we will see at Christmas will be cut with my cricut and wrapped around snowy white frosted cupcakes.

These cupcake wrappers were so easy to make; I was disappointed that I had never thought of this before.  To create wrapper number one I placed a two inch circle from the From My Kitchen cartridge on the Design Studio mat and added evenly spaced  (1.9 inches wide and 2.3 inches high) snowflakes from the Winter Woodlands cartridge at evenly spaced intervals around the circle.

To create snowflake number two I placed a two inch circle from the From My Kitchen cartridge and added five evenly spaced snowflakes (1.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches high) from Winter Woodlands.  I cut both of the snowflake cupcake wrappers in Bazzill Bling cardstock.

Assembling the cupcake wrappers is super-easy.  I affixed a tiny glue dot to one side of each snowflake and after folding the snowflakes toward the center, I overlapped the edges to seal.

To create the embellishing sticks I cut scalloped circles from the FMK cartridge (two per stick).  I embellished the scalloped circles with snowflakes from the WW cartridge and cupcakes from FMK.  I chose chocolate brown cardstock to cut the cupcakes and white cardstock to cut the frosting - this could be especially useful if you are serving several flavors of cupcakes.  The sticks can be personalized to match the cupcake flavors.

I affixed the embellished circles to long plastic party sticks (near the toothpicks at your local store).  I made the ebellishment sticks double sided to ensure that the buffet table looks great from all angles.  Each cupcake was speared with two sticks, a flavor stick and a snowflake stick.

Have you been by Jeannie's blog, A Place For My Cards, yet today?  I can't wait to see Jeannie's Crafy Girl project - she is so amazing. I have to say that sharing our week as Guest Designers has been wonderful.  Jeannie is an amazing artist and a truly kind and caring woman.  I have so enjoyed having her as a team mate.  If you are not already a fan of her blog this would be a great time to sign up!

The cut file for the cupcake wrappers and embellishments has been added to the downloadable cut files section of my blog under the title of Snowflake Cupcake Set.  I hope that you enjoy these easy cupcake wrappers and that they look fabulous on your holiday buffet!

Cupcake Anyone....?

Did you visit the premiere of the Gypsy Spot blog this week? On Monday the Gypsy Spot kicked off a new design team and projects created exclusively with the Gypsy. Just follow the blinkie on the left of my blog to see the FABULOUS projects.

Nilda instructed us to do a simple Gypsy project and I complied…. The other team member created amazing projects and might want to reevaluate what the word simple means – LOL. I am just kidding… their work is great!!!

I used the wonderful Cupcake cut from Gypsy Wanderings. I made this card before the copy, flip and weld feature had been repaired. I assembled the cupcake first, and then affixed the cupcake to the front of a brown A2 premade card. I used scissors and hand trimmed around the edge of the cupcake to create a shaped card.

Now that Provo Craft has upgraded the Gypsy software the copy, flip and weld feature is working perfectly. You know what that means for all of us Gypsy users? No more hand trimming!!!!!

Adding Two Cut Files

I have decided to work through my library of cut file and post a few additional files. Sadly this will be a slow process as I must clean up the files I add. The first two were added today: Happy Strawberry Cupcake Birthday and Guitar Gift Card Holder.

To get my cut files, you do not have to email me. They are listed by name on the left column of the blog (scroll down a bit). You simply click the name and you will be taken to the download site.

I hope you enjoy the new cut files. I will try to add more files later in the week.

Cupcakes Anyone?

In response to recent postings on the Cricut message board, I decided to spend some time this week attempting to create a lacey cupcake wrapper. My inspiration came from a photo posted on the mb from a wedding site. Most mb-ers agreed that it would take SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) to recreate the cut file. I think they forgot about STORYBOOK! The storybook cartridge is a treasure of pretty shapes. I used one of those shapes to create my cupcake wrapper.

NOTE TO USERS - I made this a little long on purpose. Sometimes we make tall cupcakes, sometimes not. Due to the repeat of the pattern, hand trimming is a breeze!! You may see the pink strip in the lower front of the photo that I trimmed. I wanted to show how easy custom sizing could be.
